The title is Easter for two reasons: I began it over the long, five-day Easter Holiday and also because the colors of the roof (which I could see from my studio window) are Spring colors. Since I was not at all drawn to that color palette at the time, the painting surprised me, opening up a vast new range of color combinations I hadn’t explored previously. There are some paintings that one keeps for herself. For me, this was one of them
