When painting from life, the session ends when the light changes. After hours of focused, careful work, it’s relaxing to use the remaining paint and simply draw with it, often making a rapid study on old panels I save. This may be the bottom of a vegetable crate. I feel good about recycling both paint and panel. And the subject would not have looked the same on a pristine, new support.
