The family cat sits next to a glass vase filled with flowers. Painted on top of a previous work with a very rough surface, the fur of the cat stands out in relief. The group of roses at right were painted from imagination, the cat from a photo and the vase from direct observation. Sylvie, like the painting of the Madonna and Child, also has a glow-in-the-dark star applied to her coat.
